Ladies and Gentleman,
It is my pleasure to announce The Coxless Rowers, the first all female rowing team to row the South Pacific Ocean, in a continuous 3 stage row in June 2013. We will be attempting to become the first female team to row the South Pacific Ocean, from San Francisco to Australia, stopping at Hawaii and Fiji en route. Not only will we be the first all female team to row this route, we will also be the first team ever attempting to complete the row as ‘3 stage continuous’ route. This route has only ever been completed by solo and pairs ocean rowers, so we will also be attempting to break the current speed record. We are very excited about our mission and hope to put The Coxless Rowers on the map because of it.
These last few weeks I have been working day and night, hence my lack of blog activity, to announce The Coxless Rowers and our mission to the world. Randl have been total superstars and have worked tirelessly to get our website, twitter account and blog all up and running ready ready for our launch. Thanks to Randl, our website is looking super snazzy and will become even more snazzy as the weeks progress! Take a little look at ….. www.coxlessrowers.com. We also intend to tweet our way across the South Pacific on twitter so follow us at ……… http://twitter.com/coxlessrowers. The social media loop would not be complete without the obligatory Facebook page, so go on, ‘like’ us at ………… https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Coxless-Rowers/298233093565190. The Coxless Rowers blog is being built as we speak and should be open for business next week! Watch this space.
As you all know, we are not just rowing the Pacific for the sake of rowing the Pacific. There is a very real and important reason for our efforts and that is, of course – the charities! We will be rowing for four charities and the details of these will be available on the website very soon!
I am also super excited as I will be appearing live on BBC Radio Bristol tomorrow morning with Dr Phil Hammond. Please, please do tune in between 9 – 10am, that is, if you are not submerged under your duvets at such an unsociable hour on a Saturday morning! The BEEB have been kind, or foolish, enough to have me on for an entire hour, to talk about four of my favourite tunes, four of my favourite people and of course, The Coxless Rowers!
Please follow our progress on the website, on twitter and of course on the radio! This is going to be one heck of a journey and we would like you all to join us for the ride!
For now, Adios amigos!
Wish I was actually coming with you, but I’ll be there, every inch of the way and look forward to some nice holidays if I can afford to get to all those exotic places xxxxx
